Description After the Monster Hunter G Expansion, Monster Hunter 2 is a real sequel to Capcom's popular creature hunting game. Monster Hunter 2 offers the player more freedon and the feeling of living the life of a hunter. Time will now flow in the game, with appropriate changes to the fields of play and the enemies that populate them. Due to improved online and offline play concepts and design, you will now get a better sense of being part of a town.
Not to be missed are new weapons, new fields and of course new monsters. A cross-connectivity mode with the PSP™ version of the game exists. Outdated, but might be interesting to check out regardless Monster Hunter Freedom 2 is based on this game. It is a nice game and all with the tweaks and gameplay additions we are familiar with, but how was the origin?
Rather interesting if I say so myself. You've got a village in which you fulfill other peoples' requests for the first part. Then you've got Day and Night transitions which actually goes as you hang around in the village. You've also got certain time periods during which you cannot access certain areas and optional sub quests to complete while out there hunting.

This means you can play your old PSP copy of monster hunter with. On average we have 2.5K unique and active players per month. The latter was something I was left desiring in the newest Portable 3rd after 3 (Tri) having them included because it adds more depth to playing quests, it encourages to do more than just kill a monster. The layout / atmosphere is largely one of it's kind. That is unless you're one of those people who play Monster Hunter Frontier. The visual style the menus have and such are taken straight out of this game, and so is the Quest Clear -theme. It's actually pretty cool, considering this game's got no online anymore. To me this game's actually more worth playing through than Monster Hunter G. MonHun Freedom 2's got a different village, no sub quests or villager requests among some other things, which MonHun 2 (dos) in return has.
You've got to give this game credit where it's due though, it introduced a whole lot of gameplay elements which newer monster hunter players are familiar with, decorations, Longswords and Sword users being able to use items with the weapon unsheathed. If you're one of those fancy people who have the japanese version of Monster Hunter Freedom aka Monster Hunter Portable, you can connect it to this game and unlock a new monster Yian Garuga for both games. The game's outdated, but it does have a decent amount of content the overseas version did not get so if you've got some money -and time- to spare then do check this game out.

You can use it on your PC (Windows, Mac, Linux Distro) or android and ios. And so you can use it to play your backed up copy of MH.
You probably all know that Evolve is dead. A few of us have been looking at various ways to play without Evolve a long time back, and we have worked out two ways. Quite large number of people are already using it. The first way, which is the easiest, uses a VPN I have set up: This VPN is unfunnily called 'HunsterVerse';). Instructions on how to join can be found here: We also have also set up is a Gathering Hall Status page that you can look at here: The second, which is a bit more involved, uses UPnP to automatically do port forwarding if your router supports it. I think someone made a post about it earlier.
Both methods have been tested and work out for everyone (including ios and android ppsspp players) Both methods also have dedicated 24/7 hosts. I do most of the back-end behind the scene programming and research work and I can attest that it functions properly. So, come join us to play MHF1, MHF2, MHFU/P2ndG, and MP3rd. Our Discord channel Join us there to get more instructions and for help. Edit: Also on our servers, US/EU/JP versions of MH can all play together. Meaning that we have bypassed Region-lock.
